Configuring an RSS Feed to Download Partnercasts to your Zune

The steps I am using to download the recordings do not automatically place them on my Zune. I save them to a folder in my Music folder, which gets synched up with my Zune daily. Here are the steps below. The reason for this is the 2 other freeware apps I tried didn’t automatically complete the downloading either so I went with purely a Microsoft only route, which involves a manual step of downloading the ones I want after reviewing the abstracts.

Try this:

Logon to the Partner Portal with your Live Credentials

Navigate to this site: http://www.msusapartnerreadiness.com/custompage.asp?pageid=1123

Click on the “what’s hot” link for RSS Feeds in the middle of the page – (see the screenshot below)

The next step is the click “Subscribe to this feed” which appears in the following window:

The following screen will appear asking you for a location to store the feeds:

Click New Folder and create a folder called “Partnercasts”

Now click “Subscribe”

Once this completes, Outlook 2007 will now list the RSS Feeds in the Folder Hierarchy.

Once I open this RSS Feed folder, I click on one of the RSS Feed abstracts and Right Click on the “Click to Listen” hyperlink and Select “Save Target As”, which I save into a PartnerCast folder I created under the “Music” directory. After that, the Zune software handles all the synch process and puts it on my Zune for my listening Pleasure.  Those steps are outlined on the Zune website which is listed below.

Thanks for the great tip Charles!  Now I have to get my act together and start loading up my Zune with Partnercasts.  Although there may be a slight delay.  I finally activated my free 14-day pass (I've had my Zune since December but kept delaying the pass) and now I'm hooked and going to sign up for the subscription service, so I may be busy traveling down memory lane in the Zune Marketplace, but I'll try to squeeze in a few PartnerCasts as well ;-)
