For anyone who has a CPA client, the start of the busy season comes early this year.  Lacerte Software will be posting the 2006 Proforma and 2007 Tax CD1 to their download servers this coming week.

One welcome change with these two releases is support for Windows Vista.  While previous years will require some workarounds when run on Windows Vista, Intuit is touting that years before 2006 will indeed run on the new OS.  Lacerte is also recommending that firms maintain a Windows XP system just in case.

While I don't expect CPA firms to adopt Windows Vista this close to the start of the season, there should be a renewed interest in Vista after the tax season which should also be sometime after Vista's service pack 1 is released.
